Estate Vineyards

In The Heart of the Walla Walla Valley

Few Walla Walla wineries own estate vineyards. Caprio Cellars is one of them. Our vineyards are all located in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley. Each site enjoys ideal sun exposure and vine-loving soil, yielding grapes of the highest quality and complexity for our estate wines. We are fortunate to use both Eleanor’s and Octave vineyards in creating Eleanor’s Estate.

ELEANOR'S

Named in honor of Owner & Winemaker Dennis Murphy’s grandmother, Eleanor, this three-acre vineyard is located in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley. Planted in 2006 with two acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and one acre of Merlot, the vineyard’s southwestern slope enables long exposure to sunlight, producing rich, complex and supple fruit. It is this small, meticulously tended vineyard, along with a limited amount of Octave Vineyard fruit, from which Eleanor’s Estate wine is produced.

OCTAVE

This twenty-two acre hillside vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley was planted in 2007. Caprio Cellars shares ownership of Octave with several of Walla Walla’s best winemakers. The vineyard is planted with sixteen acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, two acres of Merlot, two acres of Cabernet Franc, and one acre of Malbec. A limited amount of wine from this vineyard is blended into our Eleanor’s Estate wine.

SANITELLA

The newest vineyard as part of the Caprio Cellars Estate. Sanitella Vineyard is one of many vineyards included in SeVein, on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla AVA. This unique vineyard is planted in fractured basalt based soils lending to great, high elevation growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc grown there.
